WCPS to hold “Sold Out” events
This is the image for the news article titled WCPS to hold “Sold Out” eventsThis week, former professional athlete and motivational speaker, Roman Gabriel III will return to Wayne County to challenge Wayne County Public Schools middle school students to make positive life choices. Over the course of a three-day event, beginning Wednesday, hundreds of fifth and/or sixth grade students from 10 middle schools will have the opportunity to attend “Sold Out” assemblies.

The annual Sold Out assemblies have been sponsored by the local ABC Board since 2012. The Sold Out events, which have been held in both middle and high schools, promote making good decisions, drug and alcohol abstinence, and goal setting.

“As educators, we recognize that the choices our students make today can have lasting consequences,” states Dr. David Lewis, Assistant Superintendent for Accountability/Information Technology/Student Services. “We appreciate the Wayne County ABC Board and Mr. Gabriel for their ongoing efforts to help students reflect on the decisions they are making and to recognize the importance of making positive choices.”

The “Sold Out” assembly schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, October 4
8:30 a.m. – Rosewood Middle
10:30 a.m. – Grantham Middle
1:00 p.m. – Dillard Middle
2:45 p.m. – Wayne School of Engineering

Thursday, October 5
8:30 a.m. – Norwayne Middle
11:15 a.m. – Eastern Wayne Middle
1:15 p.m. – Greenwood Middle

Friday, October 6
8:30 a.m. – Brogden Middle
10:00 a.m. – Mount Olive Middle
12:30 p.m. – Spring Creek Middle
